from a GREAT professor to the Class of 2013

Three weeks in… half way there
I know you are feeling pretty overwhelmed right now.
It is normal to feel like you will never know enough and that you can’t possibly be ready.
The first board exam is always the scariest.
I believe in you. You can do this and you can do it well.
Take a deep breath.
Believe.
On the other side of those 8 hours you will begin the greatest adventure of your life.

You’re doing better than you know.

i think i have eaten more hot pockets in the last 3 weeks than i have in my entire life.....

and in other news, still studying for boards. 14 full study days until USMLE and then COMLEX a couple days after that

fun fact of the day: there is a condition called Hemochromatosis in which your body stores way to much Iron. total body iron may reach 50grams which can be enough to set off metal detectors at airports. cooooool.

Another great party invite from the Fangster....fun needed amongst board chaos

"Worst timing ever, but approx 26 years ago I hatched from a dinosaur egg. Seriously. Ask my mom.

But in even more seriousness, in order to commemorate the "great hatch", I thought it would be lovely to see some homie faces in this dire time of cave studying.

I am not a doctor yet, but I happen to know a few things, one of them being that people need to eat.

So schedule your eating/study break around say....7 pm on Saturday evening, cruise over bring your face (and a food/beverage if you feel so inclined) and your favorite song and lets hang.

I don't want to "bog" anyone down, and completely understand if it doesn't quite fit the schedie. It's going to be preeeeeettty mellow, so don't worry about dipping out etc.

And remember, three horns don't play with longnecks."

orientation has ended, they sufficiently scared us enough to never be late to rotations, always work hard, and respond to anyone with 'thank you for your feedback' whenever you want to cry.

and now 12 hour board studying days have begun and i end each day just as scared and restless for this exam to come as ever. I cannot wait to start rotations in June!!!!!

50% a doctor!!!

Today was our first day or Rotations Orientation and at 8am this morning we had a hilarious lecture from a faculty member who gave us a brief intro to rotations and what to expect. It was very exciting and it started off with her saying, "you are now officially recognized as 3rd year medical student." GREAT feeling :)
